In late 2013, JCC Krakow member Robert Desmond rode his bicycle 1,350 miles along the WWII path of liberation from London to Auschwitz. But his story doesn't end there. On Friday, June 6, 2014 JCC Krakow members, staff, and friends from around the world will be joining Robert as he completes the last leg of his journey from Auschwitz to JCC Krakow!

Ride for Living will be an annual event under the patronage of Chief Rabbi of Poland, Michael Schudrich. We will be riding 75km in a trip to not just remember the Jewish history, but to celebrate the Jewish life that exists today in Poland. We will join the community for Shabbat dinner on Friday night and participate in JDC's 7@Nite Festival on Saturday night. Among other things, we will be raising money for the JCC to fund a trip for Holocaust survivors to visit Israel.

The logistics for the ride will all be sorted (bike rental, bus transfers, tour guides, including hotel stay) but we request that you arrive into Krakow by Thursday night. Most participants will likely head home on Sunday. The cost is approximately £150 (excluding flights). Each participant would be expected to raise a minimum donation of £500.
